Dear Parents & Carers,
Re: Christmas at Vranch House
November is nearly at an end and so we look to the last few weeks of the autumn term. We always seem to pack a lot in during the run-up to Christmas and this year is no exception...
School Christmas Dinner - the kitchens at the Royal; Devon & Exeter Hospital (who supply all our school meals) always cook-up a cracking traditional Christmas dinner, with all the trimmings. This year, the school Christmas meal will be provided on Wednesday 07th December. If you already pay for school dinners or your child is entitled to free school meals, then the Christmas meal will be provided as their school dinner on that day.
Christmas Jumper Day - Thursday 8th December is National Christmas Jumper Day, where all the staff and pupils are invited to share their best (or worst!) Christmas jumper with everyone else in the school. Save the Children and other charities suggest a charitable donation of £1 for the wearing of a Christmas jumper on this day and this year we will be sending all money raised from Christmas jumper day to Children's Hospice South West.
Christmas Fête - don't forget that we are holding our Christmas Fete on Saturday 10th December, from 2pm. I hope that you and our pupils' brothers, sister, aunts, and uncles are all able to come join the festive fun with the games on offer and browse the gift and craft stalls.
Christmas Productions - I love watching al the class Christmas film productions, even when it means I get a custard pie in the face from a cheeky elf in the making of these films! All classes have been working on a special Christmas film to share with you all, but as we have grown to ten classes individual ‘premieres' in school is a bit of a stretch. To overcome this, classes have kept their individual productions, but grouped together to share their class productions at over fewer dates. Please see the list below for the dates for these group film premieres:
Thursday 8th December - Secondary (Fir, Ash, and Oak)
Monday 12th December - Pine & Elm classes
Wednesday 14th December - Early Years (Maple, Willow, and Rowan)
Thursday 15th December - Cedar and Beech classes
Each of the above premieres will take place between 2.00 and 3.00pm in the school hall, where tea, coffee and mince pies will also be available to really help you get into the Christmas spirit.
All class productions will be uploaded to Earwig after their premiere in school; as classes are coming together for sharing these films in school, can we please ask that no more than 2 family members for each pupil attend each premiere. Thank you!
