Parents and Carers of pupils at Vranch House

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the second half of the autumn term, I hope you all had an enjoyable half-term break.  We are pleased to announce we have a new pupil, Josh, in Class 4 and I am sure you will all join me in welcoming him to Vranch House school.

The second half of this term is set to be a busy one, not least of all because we are now starting to think about our Christmas celebrations.  Here is a list of upcoming events for your diaries:

Remembrance Sunday, 11th November - We have Poppies for sale in Vranch House main reception if you wish to join us in remembering all the fallen service men and women of the armed forces.

Children in Need, Friday 16th November - we will be wearing our Spots with pride to help raise money for this annual event.  If your child would like to wear something spotty and bring a small donation for Children in Need, we would love them to join us and all pupils will be involved in the Spotacular events of the day too.

School Photographer, Friday 23rd November - we try to have each child's photograph taken each year in order to update those we use for Earwig and other Vranch House purposes.  These photographs also get sent home as proofs so that parents and carers can order copies for themselves and relatives.  If anyone does not want their child to be photographed on the day, please let their class teacher know in advance.

Open Week, commencing Monday 9th December - this is the week when we invite parents and carers to come into Vranch House and watch their child in Hydrotherapy, or any other sessions they would like to sit-in on.  If this is something of interest to you, please arrange this with your child's class teacher via the home-school books.

Christmas Productions:

The Sleepy Shepherd & Vranch House Has Got Talent, Wednesday 12th December - Nursery and Classes 1, 2 and 3 will be performing their production The Sleepy Shepherd in the morning (time to be confirmed) and Class 4 will be demonstrating their skills in Vranch House Has Got Talent in the afternoon (time to be confirmed), which I'm sure will have infinitely more talent on show than the version on the telly!

Santa pays a visit... Monday 17th December - Father Christmas was so impressed with the pupils at Vranch House last year that he has kindly agreed to come again this year.  His grotto will be set up in the Secondary building as per last year and all pupils who wish to pay him a visit will be more than welcomed.

Christmas Lunch, Tuesday 18th December - the pupils will all be given a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and there may even be some Christmas Pudding for desert!

Carols around the Tree, Wednesday 19th December, 2 to 3pm - our annual sing-a-long to a selection of popular carols to get us in the mood for the Christmas holidays.

Vranch House school finishes on this day also; if you would like to attend the singing and take you child home directly afterwards, please let us know so we know who will be leaving on transport at the end of the day.

If for any reason you do not want your child to take part in one or any of the Christmas celebrations, do please let your child's class teacher know.

I hope to see you all at some of the above events and I wish you all a happy and peaceful rest of the term.

Yours faithfully

Ian Norton
