Hippotherapy is a specialised therapy intervention that uses the movement of a horse - our mechanical horse is called “Magic” - as part of a treatment programme for children and young people with physical, sensory, neurological, developmental, or communication difficulties. It is delivered by qualified therapists, such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, or speech and language therapists.

Hippotherapy harnesses the horse's rhythmic and repetitive movement to improve balance, posture, core strength, coordination, sensory processing, communication, and functional skills. The horse's natural gait closely mimics the movement of the human pelvis during walking, providing unique therapeutic input that cannot be replicated in a clinical setting.

Sessions are tailored to each child's individual goals and are designed to enhance participation, confidence, independence, and overall well-being while offering an engaging and motivating therapeutic experience.
