Gemma Brandon

Physiotherapist

I gained my undergraduate degree in 2002 in Sports Rehabilitation and Sports Science at St. Mary's, Twickenham. After working in the health and fitness industry and spending time travelling I went on to study at Southampton University getting my masters in physiotherapy in 2008.

I completed my junior rotations in Surrey and the London borough of Sutton and in 2009 I chose to specialise in paediatric physiotherapy starting in the community at Richmond & Twickenham PCT. I had a varied caseload and had the opportunity to run a musculoskeletal clinic, contribute to a neurodevelopmental clinic, take hydrotherapy sessions and run a group for children with motor co-ordination difficulties. Two years later I took an inpatient post at the Evelina London Children's Hospital where I worked on the wards covering orthopaedics, neurology, intensive care, neonates and musculoskeletal clinics.

We moved to Devon in 2016 and I started working for Vranch House in 2017 covering a colleagues sabbatical. After having my second daughter in 2017 I returned to the team in 2018. I am currently based at the Deaf Academy, providing physiotherapy to a varied student body working alongside the in-house multi-disciplinary therapy team.
