Dear Parents and Carers,

Re: A new and exciting term!

It has been lovely to come back to an expanded school with so many new pupils.  This term we welcome Rudi, Rosa, Reuben and Eden-Rose to our Nursery class, Amelie to our newly formed Reception class, Emiko and Libby to Class 4 and Georgia to our new Class 5.  We also bid a sad ‘goodbye' to McKenzie, who has moved to be closer to his extended family.  We will miss McKenzie and wish him, and his family, every happiness in their new house and schools.

To maintain the ‘Outstanding' multi-professional services we deliver under the School Core Offer to a growing pupil population, we have expanded our staffing provision and facilities accordingly.  There was a comprehensive programme of remodeling completed over the summer break, in the Lower School and Secondary provision buildings, including classrooms and toileting area remodeling.  Two new outpatient assessment areas were also created and further building works are scheduled for the new year... watch this space!

Adelle Gale is our new Nursery Practitioner, with Vicky Priddle as one of our new teaching assistants, in the newly refurbished Nursery class. We also welcome two new teaching assistants: Cathy Morris in Class 4 and Rhianon Hegarty in Class 5.  We have successfully recruited a new ‘School Physiotherapist', Kirsty Scales.   We now have 5 classes in the lower school and 2 classes in our secondary provision, totaling 37 pupils on roll, and I predict this number will grow as the academic year goes on.

True to form, we are starting the new term with a ‘bang' by holding a ‘Great Vranch House Bake Off' cake sale in aid of #HelloYellow for the children's mental health charity YOUNGMiNDS.  As per a previous letter to parents, this will also coincide with a parents and carers coffee morning being organised by our fabulous Nurse Lucy.  We hope you will join in the fun by sending in yellow items to dress your child's class teacher and that you can come and enjoy some cake too!

We have so much going on and so many exciting new developments for the year ahead and I would like to take this momentary pause to warmly welcome the new pupils and staff, and welcome back all existing pupils and their families.   I will write with further updates as they become available, but in the meantime my door is, as ever, open to you all should you have any queries, concerns or wish to discuss any matter with me.

I look forward to seeing you soon at Vranch House.

Kind regards

Ian Norton
