Parent's/Carer's Letter Xmas 2016

Parent's/Carer's Letter Xmas 2016

Date added: Tuesday 22nd November 2016
Latest updated: Thursday 23rd February 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

This term is flying by and I am writing to inform you of some forthcoming key dates, and I also have great pleasure in announcing two new members of Vranch House staff:

  • Tracey Jones, Specialist Speech & Language Therapist (SS<)
  • Jackie Beckford, Visual Impairment Specialist Support Assistant (VISSA)

Do feel free to come introduce yourself to these invaluable new members of the team here at Vranch House or arrange a meeting with them to discuss any specific questions you may have.

We can delay it no further - Christmas is coming! I would like to warmly invite you to some forthcoming seasonal events here at Vranch House:

  • "A Christmas Toy Story", Christmas Performance - Wednesday 7th December, morning - Starting at 10am
  • Carols around the Tree - Thursday 15th December, morning - Starting at 11am

Arrangements have been made for School Transport to collect pupils from 3.45pm on Thursday 15th December, as per usual, but if you are attending the Carols around the Tree and wish to take your child home afterwards, please let us know and your transport provider know in advance. Thank you!

Here are some other dates for your diaries:

  • Pupil and Staff Christmas Meal - Wednesday 14th December
  • Christmas Jumper day - Wednesday 14th & Thursday 15th December

This year staff will be saving time, paper and money by posting a Christmas card to all staff, pupils and parents on a notice board in our Reception area and making a donation to Children's Hospice South West (Registered Charity No. 1003314, www.chsw.org.uk) in a collection box, that will be held by Tracey Ward in the office.  If you too would like to make use of this facility, please do so and Tracey will gladly put any donation you wish to make in the collection box.

Christmas Jumper day, as the name suggests, is a day to show off your new or favourite winter woolly jumper and another opportunity to raise some more funds for Children's Hospice South West. All pupils, staff and parents are encouraged to wear their Christmas Jumper and any donation you wish to make to the donation box in the office will be gratefully received.

Lastly, during December, we will also be turning our Sensory Studio into a grotto as we have it on good authority that Father Christmas will be paying the school a visit... This has been organised internally by Vranch House and will entail a short visit to ‘Father Christmas' in his grotto, for each child to be given a gift (at no charge).  If, for whatever reason, you do not wish for your child to visit the grotto, please let your child's class teacher know.

I hope to see you at our festive celebrations and, on behalf of everyone in Education at Vranch House, wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

Yours Faithfully,

Ian Norton
