Dear Parents
I hope you all had a lovely and relaxing time over the Christmas holidays!
Thank you for celebrating Christmas with us and attending the Christmas plays and the Carol service. The continuous support from families is greatly appreciated!
New pupils
This term we have welcomed two new pupils - Faith and Ruby who have joined Michelle's Class 1.
Topic
Our topic this term is ‘growing'. During the first half term the children will be learning about what plants need to grow and during the second term how humans grow and develop. Each term your child's teacher will send home ideas on how you can support their learning at home. Teachers will send home ‘wow moments' slips and we would like parents to write down any fantastic things you see your child doing or saying at home.
My Goals
The spring 2015 edition of the My Goals [used to be called Individual Education Plans (IEP)] will be sent home shortly. Please get in touch with the class teacher to suggest short term goals you would specifically like us to work on with your child.
Emergency medication
The Nurses set up zip bags for every child needing emergency medication. The code for the bags are identical for all children: 306. This way all emergency medication will stay with the child.
Guidelines to parents on school attendance
Please find linked below some guidelines on school attendance if your child is unwell. We hope you will find this information useful.
Outdoor sessions
We endeavour to take all children out into the fresh air every day. As the weather is rather chilly please send in appropriate warm coats and clothes.
School uniform
As you might be aware, Beverley orders the Vranch school uniform. Please let us have feedback (regarding quality, size, etc) about the garments your child received so we can make changes if required.
Spare clothes
We ask parents to provide a set of clothes in case of accidents. We have spare clothes for emergencies but are running low on supplies. If your child took home clothes from Vranch, please wash and return them so we can reuse them.
Mobile phones
There are many signs around the school to remind us all that the use of mobiles phones is prohibited at Vranch House. To ensure the safety of our pupils please turn off your phone on arrival.
Easter celebrations - 26th March
All families are welcome to join us and make Easter bonnets, biscuits and cards at the workshops (10.00-10.40; 11.20-12.00; 13.30-14.10) and the Easter parade (from 14.10).
Coffee morning
Please join us for a coffee and some treats on 31st January (Saturday) 10.00-12.00. As usual, Vranch staff will provide entertainment/activities for the children whilst parents will have opportunity to discuss matters over a cup of coffee.
Consultation
The Local Authority is seeking views of parents regarding school admissions. Please find their leaflet link below and visit the proposals on their website.
