Parents Newsletter January 2012

Date added: Tuesday 31st January 2012
Latest updated: Thursday 23rd February 2023

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a new term at Vranch House School!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a welcome rest from the usual hustle and bustle of school days.

Thank you very much to everyone who supported our school during the Christmas celebrations last term, it is always wonderful to see you. The children and staff worked extremely hard and the Christmas Play was excellent. The Carols on the last day of term also provided a bit of fun for everyone and was well attended. The Christmas Fayre raised just over £700! Our grateful thanks go to everyone who helped collect, set up and organise events and activities, and to all those who took the time to attend and support this annual event.

Why not start the New Year by putting your name forward as a school governor or by starting up a parent support group. We urgently need some parent volunteers and would welcome your input and would  support you as much as possible.

The improvements to the lighting system at the pool are well underway and the pool should be open again for swimming sessions on Monday 30th January, 2012.

We are extremely pleased that our new Sensory Room has now opened and is being extremely well used by classes and groups. With thanks to Colonel Wheeler for allowing us to spend the necessary money to turn a resources room into a wonderful sensory environment for the children. We now have an additional learning space for classes and small groups. Many thanks also to the work of our resident technicians and ‘experts' (Phil, Simon, Adrian, Tom and Dave) for their knowledge and expertise, which have helped to keep our building costs to a  minimum.

Lucy should be in touch with you all shortly to let you know about when the Therapy Open Week will be taking place but in the meantime if you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are once again, taking part in the National Sign to Sing day on Wednesday 8th March, 2012. Although I will not be in school due to being on placement elsewhere, Dee is kindly organising proceedings and you are very welcome to attend for a fun, fundraising afternoon of singing and signing. Further details should follow shortly.
