News: Dartmoor Jailbreak 2009 Trophy Winners DARTMOOR JAILBREAK 18 APRIL 2009 - Trophy Winners

Winners were presented with their Trophies on Saturday 16th May at Clyst St Mary Village Hall. It is expected £10,000 will be raised when all funds finally come in.

TROPHY FOR MOST RAISED- £3,519.12
Me & My Girl - Tiverton led by Kevin Clarke on his 9th escape with 1st time escapee Amy , his daughter and regular escapee Wayne Coles. They visited 159 pubs in 78 hours - hardly drinking in any! they collected nearly £2,000 “on the run” bringing their total raised this year to over £3,500!

Now raised £24,431.12 in 9 escapes. First time they’ve won the trophy for most raised. Aiming for £10,000 next year!! (24th April 2010) this will be their last escape.

Kevin said, “We have been escaping for nine years and kept trying to win this Trophy so we are thrilled to have won it this year.”

TROPHY FOR BEST DISGUISE - Pirates
Rotary Rascals - Brixham - Andrew Richardson & Adrian Morrall disguised as Pirates used car, train bus & foot to be the first complete the Looe Valley Line Rail Ale Trail.

TROPHY FOR MOST UNUSUAL MEANS OF ESCAPE& FURTHEST DISTANCE - AUSTRIA
The Professionals Harry Stoker & Richard Willan from Culmstock with Darren Wells of Wellington with Danny Radford from Ashill drove a customised Jailbreak car 3,800 miles non stop & visited 8 different countries.

TROPHY FOR MOST HUMAN ENDURANCE
The Ex7ers - Dawlish Husband & wife Roy & Lyn Devlin a midwife from Derriford Hospital, walked 30 miles to Heavitree Road Police Station, though had a lift for 5 miles due to blisters. Roy carried a 50lb backpack!

TROPHY FOR MOST PUBLICITY
The Lags Nags of Exeter - sisters Cora & Leah Winterson, Kate Langdon, Robert Rainbird & Kate Parker an OT with the NHS. Created a new record for visiting 17 racecourses.

Participants are challenged to create records while ‘on the run’ from ” Dartmoor Prison”, wearing prison gear or other disguises and without paying for transport- they have up to a week to complete their challenges.
