Opportunity Technology

The Opportunity Technology Centre in Vranch House School

The OpTech is a new centre to provide assessment, review and training programmes for computer access to the curriculum, early mobility, multi-sensory activities, communication, and toys and play. A service can be provided for all ages and abilities. The assessment process is rigorous and follow-up and review can be offered so that it is possible to optimise over a period of time and to modify for changing needs. Training programmes for individual users, of a specific number of sessions are available.

 

Areas of interest include:

  • Access to the curriculum - P Levels and Key Stages
  • Access to powered independent mobility - including developing early mobility skills, and track following mobility systems.
  • Access to multi-sensory activities - using sound, music, lights and vibration to enhance interaction.
  • Access to communication - including strategies to maximise communication potential.
  • Access to toys and play - including play activities and toy adaption.
