Nearly £610,000 Raised since 1984

The following teams took part in the Dartmoor Jailbreak on Saturday:

The Torbay Police on their 12th escape when they expect to add another £1,000 to the £36,000 they've already raised. Mike Griffiths, Dick Scagell, Kevin Parsons & Shane Robertson were dressed as members of Toy Story - costumes skilfully made by Debbie, Mike's wife. The team are "on the run" for a week and aim to create a new record for visiting the most historic monuments across Europe.

The Dawlish Udders team from Barton Lodge Care Home in Dawlish were disguised as cows - Carers Diane Pearse, Trina Bryant & Hayley Carew with driver Lisa Bryant headed off for a week planning a record for the most miles covered in England in a week.

Kevin Clarke, formerly from Tiverton and now Bristol, set off on his 11th escape with an aim to collect in as many pubs as possible in 5 days. His daughter Amy was due to take part but had to pull out. Kevin already has a record of collecting in 367 licensed premises in 4 days and 8 hours. He and various other team mates have raised £26,280 over the years.

The Abbeyfield Society (charity providing housing and care to older people) team from Torpoint dressed in magnificent flappers costumes aimed to visit the most leisure facilities in Devon & Cornwall in 36 hours. The team was led by House Manager Jane Thoms, with Helen Hargrave, Cheryl Thorne, Dawn Nowark, Jackie Britzman and blow up dummy Bugsy.

Last minute entry was the Baskerville Experience from Postbridge. The team was led by Sylvia Agnew dressed as the lady of the house, with Jeff Savage and David Brookes dressed as Sherlock Holmes and Watson and Sandra Brookes and Christine Stiff as maids, The hound was wheeled away in a bath chair. They headed off on foot to Postbridge.

Organiser Sue Gould of Vranch House said," Although the turnout was tiny due to school holidays, Easter and the Royal Wedding, it did not dampen the teams enthusiasm and the costumes atmosphere was terrific! They still expect to raise £5,000."
